I grew up in a very christian family. I was told there was a man in the sky who had unconditional love for every living thing and that he created us in his own image. But why would he make a species that is never grateful, but always violent and greedy? And then why would he take the lives of the people who truly treated others how they would like to be treated. Meanwhile, the people that steal, lie, and kill get off the hook and continue to make other people's lives miserable. This song is about how there is no one watching over us. It's a dog eat dog world where we all fight amongst ourselves. We are our own gods, we just need to control ourselves and work together.
